JetC13 Joining Information
Joining is pretty simple, and like most JetC ponds 13 has a set limit of 25 members. But because we have so many lurkers, in actuality only about 15 of our members participate. Therefore Cat and I have left the group open, allowing those who wish to contact us privately petition to join the group. Right now JetC13 has 34 members, with roughly 14 active, and if I had to break it down further than that, I'd say about 8 of us post daily. If you would like to join, you can email me at KadiLuv@aol.com but you need to remember that like with all JetC groups, you need to be at least 18 years old and ready for a high mail flow.
JetC13 has some pretty basic rules we like our members to follow, mainly because it is such a large group, and because we want to be considerate of all our members. Among these rules are the following:
1. Flaming is not tolerated under any circumstances, if you are having a problem with a list member we ask that you take it up with that member offlist, and if the situation is not resolved you both bring it to the listmoms. If the problem persists and is brought onto the list, any and all parties responsible can and will be asked to remove themselves from JetC13.
2. Regarding replies... we ask that if you are going to make several short replies in one sitting.. you combine them to cut down on the amount of email being sent through the list. We ask this because many of our members have only a short online time, or are charged per minute/hour they're online and don't want to spend all their time downloading large quantities of email. This is a basic rule that goes for many online email groups, and we like to think it is common sense...
3. Oneliners.. Please, no excessive oneliners... try to follow guideline number 2 where these are concerned and condense them into one email. Oneliners can become aggrivating when several are posted in one day by the same member. That's not to say you can't send a oneliner.. just try not to send too many at one time.
4. Posting Fanfiction... Many of you know this already, but I do get asked this quite often. The fanfic you post has to be J/C, or at least have J/C in it... Meaning, if you have a P/T story you want to post, go for it as long as J/C are in it also.
5. Fanfic ratings/Multi Parts/Story Classifications... Because JetC13 is an adult list you can post NC-17 fic. We only ask that you put the rating in the heading. Multi part stories are welcomed, just mark each part. Do feel free to post Unfinished stories, as well as repost old stories... just mark those in the heading also. Example: NFS: Lessons in Vacationing 101 Rated NC-17 1/1. NFS stands for New Finished Story, Lessons...101 is the title.. It is of course rated nc17. and I posted the 1st part of a 1 part story. Unfinished stories would be posted as UFS.
6. Crossposting... I know this is a concern for all of those who are members of several lists at one time. JetC13 does allow crossposting, meaning, you can post messages to your other JetC lists at the same time you post to 13. I know this comes in handy when posting stories.. because I happen to be a member of JetC14 as well... makes it SOOOOO much easier, especially for those multi part stories... :P~
7. Posting Slash... if you have a J/C story that has slash in it...and you mark the appropriate rating in the heading, you may post it. HOWEVER, you must also mark in your heading that it is a Slash story and put what kind of pairing is in the story. Example: NFS: Whatever I Want Rated NC-17 1/1 Slash f/f. (slash, female/female).
8. Attachments... nope, not allowed. If you have a sound, picture, etc you want to share with the list, please email the list with either a link, or ask who wants it and you can email it privately to those who do. There are too many viruses floating around, and some email programs don't allow attachments... so to cut down on hassle.. they're no longer allowed in JetC13, sorry.
9. Forwards and OT material... OT (off topic) material is allowed.. we're not tyrants... but we do ask that you don't go overboard... if you have something you want to share that isn't voyager, j/c related.. just mark it as OT and send it on in. Forwards, such as jokes, quotes, questionaires, etc.. aren't allowed. Again, we have members who dont' ahve time to download that sort of thing.. so we just ask that if it doesn't have anything to do with Star Trek or Voyager, that you don't send it.
10. More basic information... What goes on in JetC13 should stay there... please don't go to other lists talking about what we're doing, who is saying what.. etc etc etc... I don't think its fair to our members. Gossip is not kewl. Please ask member permission to post their stories to your other lists, also please ask their permission to post any voyager related forward to your other lists... Do not hand out email addresses of your fellow pondies to people outside the list without permission.
Like I said.. basic common sense things most of you already know to be considerate of your other members, etc...
